Canada — CEPA and Prohibited Toxic Substances

The Canadian Environmental Protection Act underpins Canada's chemicals management, including the List of Toxic Substances and the Prohibition of Certain Toxic Substances Regulations, alongside the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act for consumer goods. Its substance listings are decided domestically and align with neither the EU Candidate List nor the TSCA inventory, so screening against those two leaves gaps. Canada has also moved on flame retardants and PFAS on its own timetable.
