Taiwan — RoHS Marking and Chemical Registration

Taiwan requires restricted-substance disclosure for designated electrical and electronic products under CNS 15663, using a marking and content table comparable in function to China's disclosure requirement. Chemical substances are handled separately through a registration regime administered by the environmental and labour authorities, with standard and simplified registration tiers by volume. Products passing EU RoHS still need the Taiwanese disclosure table produced in the prescribed form.

What it obliges you to do

  • Produce the CNS 15663 restricted substance content table where required
  • Apply the correct marking for designated product categories
  • Register chemical substances above the applicable thresholds
  • Keep supporting material data consistent across markets

Latest activity

No machine-readable feed reaches Taiwan yet. We ingest the US Federal Register and legislation.gov.uk; neither carries instruments under this name, and the EU publishers that would — ECHA, EUR-Lex, the Commission — refuse automated requests. The primary sources above are the record to watch. This is a gap in available feeds, not an indication that nothing is changing.

Does Taiwan actually apply to your products?

Scope is the part a summary cannot answer. Send us your product families and target markets and a steward will tell you which obligations attach, what evidence you would need, and what is already covered by declarations you hold.

  • A written read on whether Taiwan applies to your range
  • The evidence gaps that would surface in an audit
  • No obligation, and no sales sequence attached
